“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.” Buddha
Growing up, i felt the amount of cash at hand determined the factors for a successful and happy year and also a yard stick for a successful New Year lol; thank God for growth.
Year 2018, I will like to call it my year of GROWTH and SELF AWARENESS. I have been able to learn and unlearn and the list are enormous but let me share some real quick.
Those who improve with age embrace the power of personal growth and personal achievement and begin to replace youth with wisdom, innocence with understanding, and lack of purpose with self-actualization. Bo Bennett
“The key to growth is acknowledging your fear of the unknown and jumping in anyway.” Jen Sincero
Year 2018, I was keen on self-growth in all ramifications, and also to be wise and full of wisdom. In order to improve on myself, this drove me into reading books, learning and reading works of scholars, filtering and taking advises. I became more open to corrections and daring to take steps that I would normally be scared to take. I started engaging myself in more meaningful conversations and meetings.
2018, I transcended into a strong woman with a voice there by becoming passionate with the happenings around the globe making me discover the need to lend a voice to speak out about the oppressed and a whole lot of issues in general hence i became avid in airing my opinion to issues without being scared. I also took out time to learn more about Politics, Religion, Tribalism, Charity works, Lifestyle and intersectional feminism, and i can’t wait to do more this year.
Learning about me and my purpose is something I have been battling with for a long time, but this year it got more vivid. I am still transcending which is beautiful. I got to understand that only me can call the shot, who I allowed into my life and who I give so much power and control over my life to. The need to keep my cool and not react to every situation was at work this year. Discovering my strength, weaknesses, and my emotions, beliefs, recognizing that my thought has impact on me and rechanneling Negative energy into positivity was one of my major achievements.
“I truly believe we can either see the connections, celebrate them, and express gratitude for our blessings, or we can see life as a string of coincidences that have no meaning or connection. For me, I’m going to believe in miracles, celebrate life, rejoice in the views of eternity, and hope my choices will create a positive ripple effect in the lives of others. This is my choice.” Stephen Erickson
Being grateful has improved my life as I got happier rather than complaining. Gratitude opens your eyes to the limitless potentials and blessings from God. This year has been amazing. Starting my blog and book club and how far I have come is amazing, and also, I am thanking God for life and everyone around me.
2019, I am open to new opportunities. I still have a lot of growing to do, a lot of reading and a lot of exploring to do. I look forward to bigger things aside blogging and social media generally and I would still be taking lot of pictures and writing my thoughts here.
Happy New Year.
